On April 1, 2022, the entrepreneurial family enters a new business field with the acquisition of Carimex GmbH & Co. KG from Borken, Germany. Carimex GmbH & Co. KG has been active on the market since 1991 and focuses on the import & export trade with vehicle parts and accessories. Its customers include domestic as well as foreign municipalities, state institutions and private companies.

Henry-J. Nientimp: “The acquisition of Carimex enables us to take the next big step in our growth phase. We expect the expansion of our family-owned group of companies to generate a sustainable increase in sales of at least 50% over the next 2-3 years.”

Similar to the business process of thenex GmbH, Carimex GmbH & Co. KG is active in the tender business. Overlaps can be found on both the supplier and customer side. Especially in the procurement of vehicle parts and accessories for trucks, cars and other vehicles, Carimex GmbH & Co. KG has decades of experience and thus offers a corresponding know-how gain. Stable customer relations of many years with the German Federal Armed Forces, German police as well as NATO show a solid basis of an always family-led enterprise.

Marten-T. Nientimp: “We will use the existing structure of thenex to integrate and modernize the new company in the best possible way. We see synergy effects from purchasing, order processing and warehousing as well as general administration.”

In addition to strengthening the team in Borken with a new management team, all existing employees will also be taken on and their jobs secured. The existing management will also remain with the company for the foreseeable future and support the integration. In the medium term, a relocation of the site to Bocholt is planned.
